Back from the gym! I started with 10 minutes on the stationary bike to warm up and followed it up with some stretches and ab work. After that, I hit the weights for a while and did both upper and lower bodies. Finally, I hit the treadmill for a short burst of half a mile worth of sprints. Overall it was a great workout. Those sprints had me breathing hard. Anyway, I took a couple of pictures but it was too dark for my phone to get anything good and I didn’t bring my good camera. Maybe next time!
Ran 20 bleachers today along with a couple of laps of the track and then did some sprints/football routes. Here are the stats for everything but the sprints/routes.
Just ran 4.5 miles. Wow. The most I ran before this was a 5k which is 3.1 and I did that on a track where the elevation was essentially the same. This time my 5k time was a bit longer at 42:36 but I also had a lot of elevation changes to deal with. I’ll post the link to the workout so you can see exactly how awful it was ahaha. I only stopped to walk 3 times and it was for a very short amount of time because of extended hills. I may have been able to try to do a 10k but I was tired and my breathing wasn’t great towards the end so I stopped. Needless to say, my legs are burning right now. I really needed this to kick my butt back into gear and I also wanted to thank the 20 or so new followers I got last night…it’s great motivation at a time when I really needed it.
Anyway, here’s the link: Workout
It’s amazing how easily I can run a mile now. This gave me the confidence to sign up for a 5k this spring for before I leave for Europe. I remember barely able to run 100m or a lap, even at 270 lbs the first time around. Now I may not be the quickest, but I can do it regularly and without too much exertion.
Today I did some sprints in the form of football routes for a while first, and then I did this run here. The run included a couple of huge hills and some stairs. You can see the elevation changes and stuff, and more info in the link if you want it: Workout
So for my birthday, I decided to give myself a 5k! I wasn’t planning it but I decided to go for it mid-run. I tried to keep a steady pace throughout and I did pretty well. In my head, I wanted to run it in under 40 minutes and I managed that! I’m super excited to have run my first ever 5k and it gives me confidence to do more in the future and to keep working at it.
Honestly people, if there’s one thing you take from all of this is that you never know what your body and mind are capable of until you go out there and do it. Never sell yourself short because you’re always worth it!
Oh and here’s a link to the stats: 5k
A bit late but here’s today’s walk. Our pace was faster than previous walks so that’s nice. My left hamstring is killing me, dunno what’s up but I iced it down tonight. Also, here’s the link:
So here is today’s 5 miles. My hamstrings are really sore from yesterday and the yardwork on Sunday and I can feel them tightening up. As a result, the pace was significantly slower, for the most part, and I think I only jogged/ran 2 or 3 times. My back also hurt a bit during one of the jogs so I stopped.
Today’s walk/jog with my friend. It was nice and took me a bit to get warmed up since my legs were sore from yesterday but it was nice getting back into the swing of things after this weekend. Expect more of the same tomorrow! Our goal is to do at least 5 miles every day this week. We’ll see!
HOLY WHITE guys. Ladies. Guys. I just ran outside for a night and cold run. This is my first time running outside and I did well. I’m mad that I accidentally put indoor run on my motoactv instead of outdoor so there’s no gps info. I guess the good news is that the sensor is generally a little slow so I probably ran a bit faster than what it recorded. I’ll put the info up a bit later!
